About

meI’m Chris, I live in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Professionally, I’ve spent 15 years working in corporate IT for the oil industry in Aberdeen. Specialising in applications support and projects. Much of my day to day work is spent working closely with the clients in the business and their software vendors to find solutions to problems or plan new software implementations and upgrades. As well as my technical IT skills, I’ve developed a lot of soft skills around report writing, vendor and stakeholder management, and projects over the length of my career.

I’m also a keen writer and love spending time outdoors walking, running and cycling.  I’ve always loved nature and wildlife, especially the environment and wildlife we’re lucky to have in Scotland. Because of this when I decided to pursue a long term goal of moving out of my IT career I

I often post bits of writing along with what I’ve been up to on my blog Mince and Skirlie. For even more casual updates you can follow me on Twitter.
